Yvonne's Year Reflection
Fifth Grade was challenging but fun, and because of the challenges, I have grown as a person and as a student. I feel like this was the most challenging year from my experience as a student. I understand that if this year was challenging Middle School will be even harder. But this year has given me experience and made me understand that in bad times I am not alone. My friends have given me love and helped me through. Now thanks to my teachers and friends I have become a successful fifth grader. Some challenges that we faced didn't get solved, but I know that I tried my hardest, and that is all I can ask for. The beginning of the year was more easy and calm. but as the year progressed it got harder and harder. As I approach the end of my last year in Elementary School I am ready to transition to a harder and more unfamiliar place.I have developed a good habit of learning by using strategies from class so I learn different quick efficient strategies or strategies that help me understand the problem more. I express my thinking by showing my process, for example in math I use area models to express my thinking. My good social interactions included helping out others in all the subjects when they are having trouble and etc.
Reading
In reading one of my goals is to jot deeper more often. My strengths are long writes, jotting (even though they need to be deeper), and doing the deadline for book club reading.
Writing
In writing my strengths are using details, using similes, personifications, hyperboles, and idioms to elaborate. A goal in writing is to not rush when editing.
Math
In math, my strengths are using strategies from class, the algorithm, and using mental math. But one of my goals is to check in on my work and fix my silly mistakes.
Science
In science one of my goals is also making sure my work is finished on time. But my strengths are basically the same as my social studies goals.

In social studies this year my strengths are finding information, presenting information, and finding time to work on my projects. But some goals I have are making sure my work is finished on time.
Citizenship - CORE Values
My strengths as a citizen of CAC are helping in different subjects, trying to help when someone is upset, and trying to include everyone. And I think that this year I have grown as a citizen even more. But some goals as a citizen are being more attentive everywhere.
Most Challenging...
This year's most challenging thing was friendships. In my life, I haven't experienced much drama with my friends but this year really changed my perspective on friendship. these challenges weren't solved and might continue and worsen in Middle School.
Most Enjoyable...
One of the most enjoyable things this year was hanging with my friends and learning lots of new things. Even with the friendship troubles, other friends supported and helped me enjoy the year.
Most Proud Of...
I am proud of my growth in math because I have learned to use different strategies some that help me solve problems faster and help me understand the problems.
Most Growth...
I grew the most in math because I use all the strategies given to me.
